Oconee’s Davis speaks to Governor McMaster

At Columbia, Oconee’s Julian Davis took the chance yesterday to promote recreation to help children avoid lives of trouble by speaking to Governor Henry McMaster. Davis heads a committee that is looking to enhance recreation offerings across Oconee County, and he wanted to impress on the governor how wholesome recreation can help a child avoid a bad path in life. Although riding back from Columbia today, Davis was aware of the turmoil this week in Oconee public schools where two students were charged with disturbing school and others were suspended for violating the behavior code. He shared thoughts about that which can be heard today on 101.7/WGOG NEWS.
