Oconeeans care about their county’s future

In a series of outreach meetings, Oconeeans have shown a willingness to speak their minds about what kind of a county they’d like in the next 10 years. The current series of meetings ended yesterday at the Ravenel Elementary School, but county planners say there’s still time for input into the 2030 Oconee County Comprehensive Plan. “You need a plan to know where you are going,” says Adam Chapman, county planner. “It’s a map.” There has been important feedback from the public. Noting that 50 people attended one of the meetings, Chapman said, “It’s really quite impressive how the people of the county stand up and take an active role in government,” he said.
