Oconeean one of eight new COVID fatalities

An elderly Oconeean, who died Tuesday this week, is one of eight new South Carolina COVID-19 fatalities, listed in today’s report from the state health agency.  DHEC’S report this afternoon contains eight SC new deaths, along with 1,243 new cases of the virus. Fifteen of the new cases are in Oconee County. The Oconeean’s death apparently is the county’s first recorded virus death in the first two weeks of November and the first from the county since late October.  A total of 8,659 test results statewide were received Wednesday by DHEC.  The positivity was 14.4%.
