The first traffic incident occurred the morning of November 27th on W. Main Street in Walhalla, when a deputy from the Uniform Patrol Division, on routine patrol, observed a vehicle in front of him accelerate at a high rate of speed and pass a vehicle in a non-passing zone in front of the Walhalla Police Department.  The deputy informed dispatch that he was in pursuit of the vehicle and activated his Pursuit Alert box.  The pursuit continued out of the city of Walhalla, where the vehicle traveled at a high rate of speed and disregarded a stop sign.  The pursuit terminated on Yellow Branch Road as the deputy lost sight of the vehicle.

The second traffic incident occurred during the afternoon hours of December 14th when an investigator from the Criminal Investigations Division observed a spray painted car, which appeared to be a KIA, at a business in Fair Play.  After checking the tag on the vehicle, it came back to a Hyandai.  After the vehicle exited the parking lot the investigator activated his blue light and sirens, attempting to pull the vehicle over.  The driver accelerated the vehicle to a high rate of speed, disregarded a stop sign and drove in the lane of oncoming traffic.  The pursuit terminated on Earls Grove Road as the investigator lost sight of the vehicle. The vehicle displayed a tag that was not registered to the vehicle.

The third and final traffic incident occurred yesterday morning when the same investigator from the second incident observed the same vehicle on Sitton Shoals Road near Tokeena Road, which is between Seneca and the Tokeena Crossroads.  The driver of the vehicle observed the deputy and accelerated down Sam Brown Road, passing vehicle’s on a double yellow line.  The vehicle, a small KIA sedan that had been spray painted, displayed a New Hampshire license plate.

The pursuit continued with the vehicle passing other motorists on Return Church Road.  A second deputy took over the pursuit, which terminated after the vehicle turned into the driveway of an address on Oak Creek Road.  The driver exited the vehicle and was taken into custody.  The vehicle’s VIN number had been spray painted in an attempt to conceal the number with one of the VIN number located elsewhere on the vehicle was removed.  Further investigation revealed that the vehicle was reported stolen by the owner on September 11th.

Based upon evidence gathered in all three investigations, arrest warrants were obtained against Black in regards to all three incidents.
