Oconeean accused of gun thievery

Two days after the crimes, a 26-year old Oconeean was arrested and charged with burglarizing a gun shop not far from his home. The Sheriff’s Office report identifies the man arrested as Michael David McCann on charges of second degree burglary, grand larceny, malicious injury to property, and wearing a mask during a crime. Besides the loss of firearms, the Blue Ridge Arms gun shop on the Blackjack Road on Saturday sustained damage to its building. According to the sheriff’s office, McCann was arrested yesterday on Ranger Drive. A second arrest was made at that southern Oconee address: Leanna Shyann Green, 22-year old Pickens resident, was charged with possessing heroin. She was released on her own recognizance on a $5 thousand personal bond; McCann today remained jail under combined surety bonds of $30,125. The investigation of the Blue Ridge Arms burglary continues.
