Oconee trails both state and country in census response

The latest figures show Oconee County’s 57.9% response to the 2020 Census lags behind both the state and national averages.  Unless more than five or six out of every 10 county residents answers a small set of brief questions, a poor response could cost the county money when it comes to government services for the public.  One of the basic questions is likely to be easily answered.  And that is, where were you living on April 1, the official 2020 Census Day.  Of the various sections of Oconee, Seneca so far has the best response rate 62.5%.  The worst is West Union’s 44.1%.
