Oconee to receive emergency food and shelter funds

Oconee County has been chosen to receive $22,985 in federal funds thru “FEMA” under the Emergency Food and Shelter National Board Program 38.  According to the United Way of Oconee, a local board of directors for the program will meet to decide how the monies are to be distributed among emergency food and shelter programs run by local organizations.  Only non-profits, no individuals, may apply.  The decision meeting will be held by Zoom at 1 o’clock Tuesday afternoon, January 26.  To be included on the agenda, non-profit representatives should call the United Way office at 882-9743 no later than 3 o’clock Wednesday afternoon, January 20.
