Oconee students who fall into homeless category

At any one time during the school year, the result of any one or more circumstances, there is a small number of Oconee County students who fall into the category of homeless. That number one week ago yesterday was 23, but it’s a number that can change. One example of a homeless student is student whose family home burns. Federal law defines a homeless student as a child who lacks a fixed, regular and adequate nighttime residence. Other examples can be children living in a transitional shelter and students living in motels due to the lack of alternative accommodations.
