Oconee schools get a grade from the state

According to Dr. Michael Thorsland, the Oconee superintendent of education, the county district is showing progress, but work remains for the district to be one of the ten best in the state.  The new accountability report card shows Oconee has raised its graduation rate to 85% and reduced dropouts to 2.8%.  Ginger Hopkins, assistant superintendent for instruction, says she’s pleased that there has been a 3% point increase in students who enrolled in advance placement courses.
