Oconee receives a “clean” audit

Oconee’s outside auditor is highly complimentary of the way county staff tracks and manages its money. David Irwin of the firm Mauldin and Jenkins delivered a clean, unmodified audit opinion covering the government year that ended June 30, 2017. “We don’t have any audit findings to report to you all this year,” he said last night. The certified public auditor, in the simplest terms, explained that an audit finding would crop up if there were a deficiency in internal control. A listing of revenues, expenses, assets, liabilities and other figures can be heard today in the report airing on 101.7/WGOG NEWS.
