Oconee probate judges married 240 couples in 2017

Love was in the air once again last year in Oconee County. The county’s probate judges devoted part of their duties to helping couples tie the knot. And their work brings in revenue in the form of ceremonies performed and marriage licenses. In 2017, the office of Probate Judge Kenny Johns received 642 marriage applications and performed 240 ceremonies. The license revenue amounted to $12,045. Oconee marrying judges generated an additional $3,150 for ceremonies performed.
