Oconee County Council organizes Tuesday

The organizational meeting of Oconee County Council takes place at 6 o’clock Tuesday in council chambers at Walhalla. It’s the annual meeting in which the council elects officers and makes appointments for the next 12 months. The public is invited for the meeting, as well as for a ceremony at 5:30 when Probate Judge Kenny Johns will administer the oath of office to the newest councilman, John Elliott, representing District One. Re-elected councilman Paul Cain will take the oath for a new, four-year term as the District Three member.
