Oconee bridge construction 2.5 years out

The state has on the drawing board plans to replace two Oconee County bridges, but the work likely won’t start until the fall of 2023. Scheduled for replacement are bridges for secondary 129 over Oconee Creek and secondary 200 on the Stamp Creek Road. For both projects, according to DOT official, the state is estimating $5.5 million. Warren Hart, assistant program manager for the DOT’s Upstate Regional Production Group, says, “We currently to not have contractors on these projects as these projects are in early stages of development….The ROW (right-of-way) acquisition phase of both projects is expected to begin Fall 2021 and the construction phases for these projects are tentatively scheduled for Fall 2023.
