Nuclear plant sirens to sound in test

During a two-hour period today Duke Energy, in cooperation with  emergency officials, will test the 65 outdoor warning sirens around the Oconee Nuclear Station.  The test, between 11 am and 1 pm, will determine whether the sirens function properly.  It could be necessary to test some of the sirens more than once.  If there were a real emergency at the plant requiring the sirens to be sounded, local radio and TV stations will broadcast information and instructions to the public.
