Not too cold for a jog, but a dip into the lake?

A New Year’s Day tradition in Oconee County is a dip into the chilly waters of Lake Jocassee, a fundraiser for improvements at Devil’s Fork Park.  The traditional 5K run will take place on Monday, and so will the annual loon lunge will take place for those braves enough to charge into the water and then exit quickly.  As we all know, winter cold temperatures grip much of the country.  To some extent, a saving grace may be the fact, according to one state employee, that the water in Jocassee is warmer than the outside temperatures.
