North Carolina couple charged in Oconee theft

A North Carolina couple has been arrested and charged with stealing Duke Energy property from the property of a former manufacturing plant near Seneca. The theft of scrap metal occurred Friday at the former Covidien plant on highway 28. Lt. Greg Reed of the Oconee Sheriff’s Office stopped a car at 123 and Brookwood Drive. That led to charges and citations against Gastonia residents David Alexander Wright and Nathlee Nicole Wright. Warrants accuse Mr. Wright of grand larceny and possession of tools capable of being used in a crime.
