Norma Cantrell

Norma White Cantrell, age 91, of Inverness, Florida, passed away on Saturday, September 30, 2023, at East Bay Rehabilitation Center in Clearwater, Florida.

Norma was born in Seneca, South Carolina on February 13, 1932, to Claude Garvin and Margie Smith White.  Norma graduated from Westminster High School and lived the majority of her life in Westminster, SC.  In 2000, when her son moved to Florida, she decided to move to Florida with the family; where she lived until her death.  She was retired from the textile industry.  She loved to sew, embroidery, and cross stitch and made many beautiful creations for friends and family.  During her younger years, working in her church teaching Bible studies and Sunday School were favorite past times.  She was also active and offered leadership for Women’s Missionary Union and Girls in Action.  She loved to laugh, travel, tease, read and spend time with family.  She became fondly known as “GG’ to her great-grandchildren and she loved every opportunity to spend time with them and their parents.

Left to cherish her memory are her two granddaughters, Sherri Cantrell Gillespie (Christopher) of Pickens, SC and Traci Cantrell Schall (Jason) of Largo, FL; daughter-in-law, Carolyn McKnight Cantrell of Inverness, FL; and four great grandchildren; Byron and Nikolas Gale and Sierra and Kale Schall.

In addition to her parents, Norma is preceded in death by her son, Rev. Gary Wayne Cantrell.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm, Sunday, October 8, 2023, at First Baptist Memorial Cemetery.
