No in-class school today

It’s an eLearning day in the Oconee public schools.  Here’s the word from the county district on why students must stay away from their schools this day:  “This decision is due to the predicted substantial rainfall and high winds which may lead to downed trees and power lines.  In addition, South Carolina bus safety regulations limit the use of school buses during periods of sustained winds of 30mph and higher or gusts of 40mph and higher.  Students will not come to school buildings.  Assignments will be posted by 10:00am in Google Classroom for elementary and middle school students or Canvas for high school students.  Teachers may provide live instruction, a pre-recorded lesson or online resources according to the following schedule:  10am to 12pm for elementary schools.  Middle and High school times are from 10am to 12:40pm with specific times for each class period with details communicated by teachers through email.  Students will have 5 days upon returning to school to turn in assignments.  If assignments are not completed and turned in within those days, the students will be considered absent for the eLearning Day.”
