NFL Draft

Travon Walker, a defensive lineman who started all fifteen games for Georgia as a defensive tackle last season, was selected with the No. 1 overall pick after an incredible pre-draft performance at both the NFL Combine and Georgia’s Pro Day. Walker is the fifth Bulldog drafted first overall, and the first since the Detroit Lions took quarterback Matthew Stafford in 2009.  The Carolina Panthers elected to stay at No. 6 and select North Carolina State’s Ikem Ekwonu, considered the premier offensive lineman in this draft.  he Atlanta Falcons went to the west coast for their first round pick, selecting wide receiver Drake London from South California.
