New South Carolina COVID cases jump to 706

The latest count of COVID-19 in South Carolina totaled 706 new, confirmed cases.  The count was effective at the end of the day on Wednesday this week.  The 706 number is the highest one-day virus case count in the state since the previous Wednesday when the number was 738, according to records kept by 101.7/WGOG NEWS.  Of the 706 new reported cases, 14 of them were in Oconee County.  Statewide, the death toll went up by 32 new deaths, including that of one Oconee County resident.  Of 28,202 test results received, the new positivity:  5%.
