New law changes child care work requirements

South Carolina laws that govern education and training for those who work in licensed or approved child care centers changed this week with the enactment of S. 862, authored by Senator Katrina Shealy of Lexington County. Child care professionals must have one of the following requirements:  high school diploma, high school equivalency recognized by the State Board of Education, certificate of completion, or South Carolina High School Employability Credential.
