New bar-restaurant planned in downtown Seneca

A Seneca regulatory board stamped its approval last night on a certificate of appropriateness for changes to a downtown building to allow for a new restaurant and bar.  The location is 106 E. North First Street, a building that once housed offices for the Homebuilders Association of Oconee.  Certificate applicants last night were Kim and Drue Yates.  Changes proposed for the 106 E. North First location are the addition of a second floor and changes to the facade.  A second board of architectural review hearing was recessed to a November 9 follow-up meeting, at which the board wants to look at additional options from architects involved with property at 404 E. North First Street.  At that location, the application is to paint a mural on a brick building adjacent to the Keowee Brewing Company.
