New assistant principal selected

At its meeting on Monday, May 11 the, the School Board approved the hiring of Alden Broome to fill the role of assistant principal at Walhalla High School for the 2020-2021 school year. Broome, a Walhalla High School graduate, has taught in the district for the last seven years, including the last two at Walhalla High. Besides teaching social studies, he has also served as co-athletic director. Broome holds a Bachelor’s degree
from Lander University in Secondary Social Studies and a Master’s from Clemson
University in Educational Leadership. He lives in Walhalla with his wife, Kayla, and
2-year-old daughter, Olivia. They are expecting their second baby girl, Kennedy, in
June.
