Near drowning in the Chattooga River

The emergency services manager for Oconee, Scott Krein, has confirmed there was a near drowning yesterday at Bull’s Sluice on the Wild and Scenic Chattooga River.  At 3 pm one person, a male, fell out of a raft into the water.  He was in the water for a period of time, but did not get submerged, according to Krein.  The rafter was assisted to the shoreline where medical personnel transported him to the hospital.
