MYRA HARE
Westminster – Myra Rogers Hare, 86, wife of Thomas Jimmie Hare Sr., passed away on Monday, April 15, 2024, at the home of her daughter, Ivy Smith, surrounded by her loving family.
Born April 5th, 1939, in Anderson County, South Carolina, Myra was the daughter of the late John and Eugenia Parks Rogers. Myra was a seamstress, a teacher assistant, a Sunday School Teacher for adults and children at Calvary Church and Westminster Church of God, and a member of Westminster Church of God. Myra’s greatest passion was to witnesses for the Lord, she enjoyed reading her Bible, and gardening.
Myra is survived by her beloved husband of 65 years of marriage, Jimmie Hare Sr., her son, Tommy Hare and wife Debbie of Newton, North Carolina; daughters, Ivy Lynn Smith and husband Freddy of Westminster, Ladone Hare Black of Westminster, Gina Martin and husband Randall of Westminster; brother, Glenn Rogers (Willie Ann) of Townville; grandchildren, Thomas Hare (Katie), Carrie Withers (Will), Brent Smith (Tracy), Bradley Smith (Kayla), Harris Martin (Brittany); granddaughter in law, Amanda Smith; and sixteen great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Myra is preceded in death by her grandson, Scotty Smith; brothers, Ira Rogers, Robert Rogers, Billy Rogers; sisters, Vermell Ledford, Louise Gerrard, Vera Hines, Virginia Cain, and Betty Ables.
A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 pm, Wednesday, April 17th, 2024 at Sandifer Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Calvary Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends and family from 11:00 am to 12:45 pm, prior to the service, at Sandifer Funeral Home.
