Mrs. Joellen Queen Thrift

December 29, 1933 – August 17, 2022

 

Joellen Queen Thrift, wife of the late Samuel Ford Thrift, of Seneca, SC passed away, Wednesday, August 17th, 2022.

 

Born in Seneca, South Carolina she was the daughter of the late William Boyd Queen and Thelma Blanche Simmons Queen. Joellen married her sweetheart, Samuel Ford Thrift in 1954. Joellen worked at the South Carolina National Bank for many years and later obtained ownership of Merle Norman Cosmetics for over 45 years in Seneca. Sam and Joellen had a special love for animals and were supporters of the Humane Society both locally and nationally. Their contributions were also utilized for animals at the University of Georgia Veterinary School.

 

 Survived by Joellen is her niece (daughters) of Seneca, Marcia Thrift Hydrick (Tim), Sherry Thrift Bradshaw; along with his twin “grand’s” Tucker Thrift Hydrick (Ashlyn) and Lauren Hydrick Koch (Clay), William Brewer Bradshaw (Cassidy), Thomas Samuel Bradshaw (Jamie-Keith), and Marcia “Collins” Bradshaw Cromie (Mike). 

 

Mrs. Thrift is survived by a host of beloved friends and family including her sister-in-law Lillian Thrift (the late Glenn) and Sharon Thrift (the late Roscoe); nieces and nephews, Gary Thrift (Cathy) and the late Shan Pate (Kirby), Alice Hare and Linda Bearden (the late Ken), Larry Derrick ( the late Betty Ann), Suzanne Pierce (the late Charles), Peggy Patterson, Martha Janssen (John), Joyce Collins (the late Perry) and Dean Thrift (Mickie),  the late Jimmy Thrift, Joel Thrift (Debbie), Roger Thrift (Linda) and Candace Thrift.

 

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, August 19th, 2022 at Oconee Memorial Park, where family and friends are invited to attend.
