Mowing contractor hit a fiber optic line

The Oconee Joint Regional Sewer Authority (OJRSA) has been without phone, email, and internet
service since Wednesday due to an SCDOT mowing contractor hitting a fiber optic line that serves the facility. AT&T
is currently assessing the situation and will repair the line as soon as possible.
Sewer customers are being asked to contact their wastewater provider as listed on their water bill for sewer-related
emergencies. Septic tank issues should be directed to the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental
Control (DHEC) by calling 864-638-4185.
If the matter involves an OJRSA sewer-related emergency, call 864-973-3804.
The OJRSA will not be able process permit applications, respond to information requests, or other typical functions
until the network has been restored.
