Motorcycle stolen from garage, 8 arrests made

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office has arrested eight subjects, seven men and one woman, as a result of a burglary and grand larceny investigation near Seneca.

During the evening hours of April 13th, a deputy from the Uniform Patrol Division responded to an address on Petty Road in reference to a reported burglary to a garage. After making entry into the garage with the property owner, deputies opened an investigation which was turned over to the Criminal Investigations Division.

As the investigation continued the next day, deputies were notified by a family member of the property owner that several motorcycles were missing from the garage. Further investigation revealed that approximately nine motorcycles were taken along with some motorcycle parts.

Yesterday, as the investigation continued, investigators responded back to a separate address on Petty Road right next to the original location scene where the complainant had blocked a vehicle from leaving with his vehicle. There were three subjects on the scene, a driver of the vehicle and two other individuals on foot, whose identities were verified by the investigators. Those subjects were identified as David Thomas Grant of Seneca, Robert Louis Tedford of Seneca and Hassie Yvonne Tannery of Westminster.

Based upon evidence gathered during the investigation, deputies were able to obtain arrests warrants and charge the eight subjects with the following charges:

One count each of Housebreaking and Criminal Conspiracy

• 41 year old Robert Louis Tedford
Deer Run Court, Seneca
One count each of Housebreaking and Criminal Conspiracy

• 57 year old Stephen Ray Oliver
Petty Road, Seneca
One count each of Third Degree Burglary, Grand Larceny and Criminal Conspiracy

• 35 year old David Thomas Grant
Burrleton Drive, Seneca
One count each of Housebreaking and Criminal Conspiracy

• 30 year old James Richard Harju
Honea Drive, Westminster
One count each of Housebreaking and Criminal Conspiracy

• 35 year old Devin Nathanial Talley
E. Brucke Road, Seneca
One count of Possession of a Stolen Vehicle

• 52 year old William Ward Baker
Sugarhill Road, Seneca
One count each of Possession of a Stolen Vehicle and Criminal Conspiracy

• 34 year old Richard William Shumsky
Sugarhill Road, Seneca
One count each of Possession of a Stolen Vehicle and Criminal Conspiracy
