Month of rain passes, good sign for the drought

A familiar saying is April showers bring May flowers.  Around these parts, however, you might be able to say that May showers will bring June flowers.  During May, according to the U-S Weather Observer in Walhalla, an above average 7.69″ was measured.  “We’re doing well,” says Barbara Wilson, the weather observer.  All that rain bodes well toward alleving drought conditions.
