Momentum to build a new police station

“We have received the paperwork to get the funding.” That from Tim Rice, the Walhalla police chief.  Rice says he expects the money to build a new police station to arrive this fall.  And he’s at work to develop proposals for city council consideration.  Where to build anew is a question.  Rice said, “We have a small lot beside city hall is being explored, but not confirmed.  We are still working to find a suitable location.”  First-year Mayor Tim Hall is a proponent of new police headquarters.  His comments are being aired today on a 101.7/WGOG NEWS interview.
