Molly Spearman to walk away after 2022

Molly Spearman says she will not seek re-election to a new term as state superintendent of education.  She made the announcement today regarding the 2022 election.  Her current term ends in in January 2023.  She made these comments on her career in education:  “I have been honored to serve   and devote my life to the future of our state, nation, and world.  I have been honoree to serve and devote my life to this important work first as a teacher and principal, then as a legislator, senior staff member at the Department, an education association leader, and finally as State Superintendent of Education.”  She believes that since taking office in 2015, public education has made “tremendous progress.”
