Midnight hour traffic stop snares “Avalanche” suspect

A midnight hour traffic stop on Seneca’s Wells Highway has netted authorities one of two high-profile suspects in the Oconee Sheriff’s Office initiative to battle the spread of methamphetamine. City police officers say they acted on a complaint about a suspicious vehicle at a convenience store/gas station and wound up arresting two people—the driver and a passenger. The Seneca police announcement states that the arrested passenger, Mickey Edward Cox of Walter Morris Drive, Seneca, is the same Mickey Cox who, according to the Sheriff’s Office, has ties to a Mexican drug cartel. Both Cox and the pickup truck driver, Terry Allen Langston of Old House Road, Walhalla are charged with drug and gun offenses.
