Memorial Day litter at the parks

The county and state parks welcome visitors this summer, but they appeal to their sense of pride and request them to not litter.  One particular problem during Memorial Day weekend was the unsightly litter that was left behind at Oconee’s High Falls Park near Walhalla.  Ranger Liz Johnson says, “It’s easy to forget the little pieces of trash, but they add up quickly and can end up in our lakes, rivers and waterways, harming the environment and wildlife.”
