Meet and hear the Westminster candidates

A Westminster organization invites the public for a candidate’s forum the night of April 4, in advance of the city’s special election later in the month.  The group Westminster Senior Outreach has invited the six men and women who are placing their names on the ballot for the special April 26 election to fill three city council seats.  The candidate’s forum will run 6:30 to 8 o’clock the night Monday, April 4 at the Depot on Main Street.  Each of the six candidates will have a chance to introduce themselves at the start, but the bulk of the night will be reserved for their answers to a selected set of questions now being gathered by Senior Outreach.  If you’d like to pose a question, you place your question in a drop box in the foyer of city hall on Windsor Street.  Questions may also be mailed to Westminster Senior Outreach, 211-A Lucky Street, Westminster, SC  29693.  According to Judy Caywood of Senior Outreach, the candidates can expect questions about utilities, as well as issues such as beautification.  But she stresses also that Outreach will welcome questions about general Westminster matters from interested persons, regardless of age or standing in life.
