Mayor talks Walhalla water issues

The brown water problem, the importance to conserve water, and where Walhalla’s utilities department goes now, as the city’s long-time director leaves for a job in nearby Westminster.  They are topics that Mayor Tim Hall addressed today to 101.7/WGOG NEWS.  Walhalla water customers remain under voluntary cutbacks and restrictions about outside watering, but the first-year mayor says the city’s tanks are refilling, a good sign.  As for the problem of brown water discoloration, that has cleared up, from what Hall has learned.  On top of everything else, the city faces the task of finding a new utilities director and Hall says he wishes the best for Scott Parris and expresses the city’s appreciation for Parris’s hard work and accomplishments over the year.  Meantime, the number two individual in city utilities, Zane Thompson, will serve as interim director while Walhalla finds a replacement for Parris.
