Mayor responds to his social media critics

In spite of his social media critics, the Westminster mayor is pleased by accomplishments by both him and the new look city council in their first year in office.  And Brian Ramey describes his resolve as strong in the face of critics who want him and most of the rest of the council removed.  A Facebook petition, posted in the name of Susan Worley, calls for the removal of Ramey and five council members.  The one exception is Susan Ramey, whom Worley wants to become acting mayor.  But Mayor Ramey believes the criticisms are without merit.  One criticism is that Ramey and other city officials won’t answer questions and won’t allow members of the public to speak before meetings.  Not true, Ramey says.  Members of the public are permitted to address city leaders at the start of regular council members.  And the mayor says he encourages anyone interested to call the elected officials and the staff at City Hall with concerns or questions..  Ramey says transparency is important to his city and strides are being made to post financial and other information on the city website.
