May ushers in dry conditions

Not even two and one half inches of rain fell in Walhalla in the month of May. And it’s a reminder to us that one local farmer predicts we’ll be in a drought by July 4. Weather watcher Barbara Wilson tells us the 31-day month saw a swing in high and low temperatures. The highest reading, 93 degrees, was observed on the 27th day; the lowest was 43 on the 14th. Conditions today are forecast to be sunny and a high near 90.
