Master plan update for Lake Hartwell

Everyone who has interest in Lake Hartwell is invited by the federal government to take a look at proposed changes to the Corps of Engineers’ master plan for managing the recreational, environmental, land and wildlife aspects of the massive body of water.  The corps’ Savannah District is accepting public comments on the proposed changes until the noon hour May 28.  The feds could have kept the plan established in 1981, but officials recommended a new one.  Their hope is that a new plan will provide a more orderly way of developing recreation facilities by government agencies and others.  One note of caution:  If you go online to look at the plan, consider that the online files are large and may take several minutes to open or download.
