Massive grading project finishes at Clemson University

A contractor, J. Davis Construction, announces the completion of a large grading project in Clemson covering 6 acres. The objective was to create a pad on which Duke Energy can install a new switchyard, expanding power distribution to the growing Clemson campus. Beginning on February 14, the project had its share of setbacks. Jarred Flemming, Senior Utilities Engineer with Clemson University said, “We had a few challenges with wet soil, but J. Davis brought in the necessary equipment to work and dry the dirt.” Sam Sandifer, J. Davis’s Civil Division Leader, said in spite of frequent wet conditions, he is pleased the project wrapped up on time and on budget. The Civil Division at J. Davis Construction offers services such as demolition, grading, storm drainage, and streetscape/hardscape.
