Mary Ellen White

Townville– Mary “Ellen” Phillips Carter White, 87, wife of Ron Axell, passed away on Friday, May 27^th, 2022 at the Callie & John Rainey Hospice House.  

 

Born 10/3/1934 in Long Creek, South Carolina, Ellen was the daughter of the late J.V. Phillips and Clara Ware Phillips. Ellen retired from General Motors and was a member of Long Creek Baptist Church. Ellen married C.B. Phillips on 9/06/1950 in Walhalla, South Carolina and they had four children, Dannie, Stanley, Judy and Julia. Pate Phillips was Ellen’s companion from 1961-1970, she later married West Carter in 1978 and until his death in 1982. Ellen later married Kent White in 1984 until his death in 2000.

 

Ron Axell and Ellen were married in Arizona in 2013, and were a couple for 22 wonderful years, Ellen is survived by her beloved husband; daughters Julia Jaworski and her husband Ron of Walhalla and Judy Paruszkiewcz her husband Mark of Tennessee; nine out of twelve of her stepchildren, many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.

 

In addition to her parents, and prior husbands, Ellen is preceded in death by sons, Dannie Mikel Phillips and Stanley Phillips.

 

A graveside funeral service will be held, 10:00 am, Monday, May 30^th, 2022 at Long Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
