Marvin Lewis Moore

 

 

Mountain Rest, SC – Marvin Lewis Moore, 88, husband of Lois Joan Apsey Moore, of 241 Land Bridge Road, Mountain Rest, passed away on Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at his residence.

 

A native of Oconee County, Mr. Moore was the son of the late Silas Newton Moore and Annie Mae Bottoms Moore. Mr. Moore was a veteran of the United States Navy having served during the Korean War as a 2nd Class Engineman. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy and received, United Nations, Korean Service, Good Conduct, China Service and National Defense metals.  Mr. Moore was a member of the Walhalla American Legion Post #124 and the Disabled American Veterans. He was also a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

 

In addition to his wife, Mr. Moore is survived by sons: Randy Richardson, Tim Richardson, Vernon Richardson and Richard Moore; daughters: Rhonda Deming and Melissa Hancox; brother: Edward Alden Moore; and thirteen grandchildren and twenty-nine great-grandchildren.

 

In addition to his parents, Mr. Moore was preceded in death by his brother: Norman Ray Moore; and sisters: Agnes Pauline Moore Asbill and Edith Colleen Moore Peacock

 

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, February 4, 2021, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with burial to follow at Poplar Springs Baptist Church Cemetery with Military Rites.

 

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM, Wednesday, February 3, 2021, at Davenport Funeral Home Chapel.
