Man discovered dead in post office identified

Although an autopsy takes place tomorrow, the coroner believes a medical event led to the death of a 64-year old homeless man early today inside the West Union Post Office.  The body of Charles Edward Griffin was found around 4 am inside the lobby/mailbox aisle in the post office.  Griffin was found face down on the near the side entrance to the facility. Coroner Karl Addis says family members who live in Georgia and Alabama have been notified.  According to an estimate, Griffin died some time between 1 am and 3 am.  The death is also being investigated by the West Union police and the Oconee Sheriff’s Office.
