Malinda Imogene King Barker

 

 

 

 

 

 

Westminster- Malinda Imogene King Barker, 91, wife of the late John Allen Barker, passed away August 6th, 2021 at Clemson Downs.

 

Born in Oconee, SC, she was the daughter of the late Jack and Nannie Freeman King. Imogene was a loving homemaker, a faithful member of Coneross Baptist Church and Corinth Baptist Church, and was very active in Christian missions. She enjoyed gardening, but her greatest passion was caring for her husband and family.

 

Imogene is survived by her son, Steve Barker (Marcia) of Dacula, Georgia; daughters, Dianne Martins (Arthur) of West Columbia, South Carolina, Deborah Belcher (Walt) of Safety Harbor, Florida; sister, Betty Prater of Westminster, SC; six grandchildren, Malinda Hope Drawdy, Teressa Fisher, Alan Belcher, Brent Belcher, Jonathan Barker, Melody Barker; and thirteen great-grandchildren.

 

In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Horace King and Tom Jack King; sisters, Nellie Fricks Marett and Polly Duckworth.

 

A Funeral Service will be held 2:00 pm, Saturday, August 14, 2021, at Sandifer Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Coneross Baptist Church Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 1:00 pm to 1:45 pm prior to the service at Sandifer Funeral Home.  Due to the Covid-19 pandemic and concerns for the health of family and friends, Imogene’s family ask that all who attend the visitation and service please wear face masks.

 

The family is at the residence, 2018 Sunset Drive, Seneca, SC.  In lieu of flowers, memorials in Imogene’s name may be made to Coneross Baptist Church, 1231 Westminster Highway Westminster, SC 29693 or Corinth Baptist Church, 530 Old Clemson Hwy., Seneca, SC, 29678.
