Main Street traffic signal cycles add to gridlock

If you’ve experienced Walhalla Main Street gridlock or frustration over the frequency of the traffic light cycles, you are not alone.  The Walhalla police say the DOT is aware of the problems and is attempting to make corrections to lessen the difficulties.  In the meantime, says Capt. Tim Rice, patience on the part of motorists is the best advice.  At some of the intersections, the timer beneath the asphalt that senses traffic lineup, of late, hasn’t always worked.  Rice says the DOT came to Walhalla last week and the light cycle was corrected at the Main and College street intersection. Another situation occurs when some motorists pull up to an intersection and have to sit for a red light that won’t change in proper time.
