Mackie Vinson
Walhalla –Mackie Eugene Vinson, 69, husband of Evelyn Hall Vinson, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 27th, 2023 at Prisma Health Cottingham Hospice House, surrounded by his loving family.
Born November 16th, 1954, in Seneca, South Carolina, Mackie was the son of the late Hoyt Eugene and Irene Stancil Vinson. Mackie worked at the Clemson JP Stevens plant for 18 years and later was a supervisor at Maxfli and attended Calvary Church. Mackie was a sport’s enthusiastic, who enjoyed golf, baseball and his Clemson Tigers, and had a passion for music, at a young age he was drummer.
Mackie is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Evelyn Hall Vinson; son, Scott Vinson and wife Rebekkah of Pendleton; two grandchildren, Grayson Richards and Jaxan Vinson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mackie is preceded in death by his parents, his sister and brother in-law, Vernell Vinson Wicker and Buddy and a granddaughter, Evelyn Vinson.
A Funeral Service will be held 12:00 pm, Tuesday, October 31st, 2023 at the Calvary Church with burial to follow at Calvary Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service 10:30 am – 11:30 am, at Calvary Church.
