Lower bond sought by woman charged in boat landing incident

A woman accused of sex-related crimes this summer at a Lake Hartwell boat landing in Oconee County appeared before a judge today, in the hope he’ll lower her bond.  In the matter of Cynthia Lynn Winston, Judge Keith Kelly did not immediately announce a decision.  Winston and a co-defendant are charged with crimes June 16 at the Friendship Boat Landing.  In one charge, Winston is accused of indecent exposure in the view of children at the boat landing.  The mother of one of the victims stood before the judge and opposed any reduction in bond, saying she believes Winston is a threat to the community.  The defendant’s attorney said her client has no prior record.
