Darrell Callis

Seneca– Lonny Darrell Callis, 72, husband of Diana Mahanay Callis, passed away on Thursday, February 8th, 2024 at his residence.

 

Born August 10th, 1951, in Clayton, New Mexico, Darrell was the son of the late Charlie and Alta Faye Robinson Callis. Darrell was known for his training of cutting horses for over 24 plus years. He was a member of the South Carolina Cattleman Association, the American Registered Charolais Association, the Greater American New Mexico Cutting Horse Association, the High Plains Cutting Horse Association, National Cutting Horse Association, was the New Mexico County Commissioner, and a member of the New Mexico School Bus Drivers Association.

 

Darrell is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Diana Callis; sons, Brent Callis and wife Karen of Walhalla, Ryan Callis and the late April of Nebraska; a brother, Quint Callis of Clayton, New Mexico; a sister, Kathy Johnston and husband Johnny of Clayton, New Mexico; three grandchildren, Dakoda Callis (Rebecca), Laynee Callis and Charlie Callis.

 

A Celebration of Life Service will be held in Clayton, New Mexico.
