LOIS MCALISTER

Westminster– Lois Blackwell McAlister, 79, wife of the late Charles William McAlister, passed away Tuesday, March 5th, 2024 at Prisma Health Cottingham Hospice House.

 

Born April 16th, 1944, in Long Creek, South Carolina, Lois was the daughter of the late Bert Mitchell and Bessie Bates Blackwell.  Lois worked at Ulbrich as a winder operator and was a member of Fairview Church of God. Lois was the 4th of 12 children belonging to Bert and Bessie Blackwell.

 

Lois is survived by her daughter, Denise Hill of Westminster; brothers, Raymond Blackwell, and Mike Blackwell; sisters, Marie Weaver, and Pauline Boyd; two grandchildren, Nikki Howard and Laura Taylor; and four great-grandchildren, Jasmine Dorsey, Katlyn Dorsey, Logan Charles Dorsey, Skylar Sanford; and many nieces and nephews.

 

In addition to her parents and husband, Lois is preceded in death by her infant twin daughters, Charlene and Arlene; brothers, Mitch Blackwell, Clem Blackwell, Charles Blackwell and B.H. Blackwell; and sisters, Bertie Mae Owens, Ethel Roach, and Eleanor Johnson.  

 

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, March 7th, 2024 at Sandifer Funeral Home with burial to follow at Rocky Fork Cemetery. The family will receive friends and family prior to the service, Thursday, March 7th, 2024, 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm, at Sandifer Funeral Home.
