LOIS MARCENGILL
Westminster- Lois Baker Marcengill, 92, wife of the late Marvin Hubert Marcengill, passed away on November 30th, 2023, at Lakeview Assisted Living, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Fair Play, South Carolina, Lois was the daughter of the late Edward Cranford and Terella Walters Baker. Lois was retired from Beacon Manufacturing and Perry Ellis Sales. She was a member of Chauga Baptist Church and attended Cross Roads #2 in her later years. Ms. Lois was a giving person with a servant’s heart; always willing to help. She was a bright and shining light in this world with a beautiful smile for everyone. Lois never met a stranger and often made delicious pound cakes to share with her church, family, and friends.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Gail Jones (JT); sons, Terry Marcengill (Janice), Monty Marcengill (Telitha); grandchildren, Kandi O’Shields (Robert), Chad Marcengill (Brittney), Bridget Smith (Dennis), Justin Marcengill, Tracie Smith, Steve Swafford (Donna), Kevin Jones, Abby Cockman, Katelan Scarborough (Corey); 13 Great-grandchildren and 14 Great-Great grandchildren and one on the way.
In addition to her parents and husband, Lois is preceded in death by her brothers. Freeman, Jackson, and Layland Baker; sisters, Eva Nell Sheriff, Eunice Dyess, Mozelle Metcalf, and her twin sister, Lorene Sheriff.
A Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 pm, Sunday, December 3, 2023, at Chauga Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends and family from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm, prior to the service, at Chauga Baptist Church.
