Local and area Democrats plans for tomorrow

The Oconee Democratic Party will go forward with its plans for precinct meetings and a county convention tomorrow morning in Seneca.  Chairman Stephen Sperry says there will be wipes and hand sanitizers on hand at the Gignilliat Community Center meeting room.  Registration begins at 9 o’clock.  Coffee will be served.  The precinct meetings start at 10, followed by the county convention.  Everyone is invited.  There’s the chance that a potential Democratic candidate for the U-S House will attend.  Pickens County Democrats will be in action tomorrow, but with changes.  There will be no county convention.  Jaime Harrison, who will pursue his party’s nomination for the U-S Senate, has cancelled all appearances until further notice.  However, Pickens County Democrats will conduct precinct re-organization.  Chairman Richard Byrd, along with former Chairman Ethan Cashwell, will be present at 9:30 at the Central/Clemson Library for those interested.  If you are interested in attending either the state or national conventions this year, call 864/643-8037 or 704/685-4441.
